THURSDAY: The prehistoric paintings of the Candamo cave and the wild scenery of the cape of Cabo Peñas, the most northerly point of Asturias.

FRIDAY: Villaviciosa ['the town of abundance'] and the estuarine life of its ría: ascent of the dominant hill of Peña Cabrera, the pre-romanesque church of Priesca and the famous El Gaitero cider factory.

SATURDAY: Landscapes and traditions of Candás: fish conserves; open-air sculptures and works of the candesino artist Antón. Spectacular cliff-edge walk on an old railway line.

SUNDAY: Circuit of the dolmens of Monte Areo; buffet picnic with views over the Atlantic. Singular descent into a re-created coal mine where we experience the sensations of the miners at work. Our first contact with Asturian pre-romanesque architecture, of Visigothic, Byzantine and Moorish influence: Santa Cristina de Lena.

MONDAY: Ramble in the steps of Clarín, the famous 19th century writer, whose family had a summer residence near Candás, and who amply described the area in his works.
